Cavern Club 1957~1973, May 27th 2013 ~ Final Show 40th Anniversary

Saturday 27th may 1973, marks the 40th anniversary of the final show at Liverpool's home of Mersey Beat, the original "Cavern Club". On the 28th May the bulldozers came in and the club that was the Mecca of the Sound of the Mersey was no more. On the bill for the final show was Merseyside bands; Caliban, Strife, Wardog, Bilf Slat, Harpoon and Supercharge with special guests from London Hackensack. As guitarist with Caliban, Shooter's Keith Hubbard was fortunate to be one of the few musicians to perform on the Cavern stage on it's final night.
